Cookie policy
What business-in-switzerland.com stores on your browser, why, and for how long. Short version: strictly essential cookies only, no analytics, no advertising, no retargeting.
Last updated: 2026-05-07 · Version: v1.0
Our cookie stance at a glance
This site sets only strictly-essential cookies, used to protect the contact form and to secure the site against automated abuse. We do not use analytics cookies, marketing cookies, or advertising cookies. No Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Matomo, no Meta Pixel, no Google Ads tag, no LinkedIn Insight, no retargeting scripts.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device, so that the site or its service providers can recognise the device on future requests. Some cookies exist only for the duration of a single browsing session and are discarded when the browser closes; others persist for a defined period. Similar storage technologies include local storage and session storage, which we treat with the same discipline.
Cookies we set
The table below lists cookies that may be set when you visit business-in-switzerland.com. These are set by our edge provider (Cloudflare) for security and bot mitigation. We do not set any first-party analytics or marketing cookies.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Party |
|---|---|---|---|
| cf_chl_* | Cloudflare Turnstile challenge token, used to verify that a contact-form submission comes from a real browser. | Session | First-party-like (Cloudflare) |
| __cf_bm | Cloudflare bot-management cookie, set at the edge to distinguish automated traffic from humans. | 30 minutes | First-party-like (Cloudflare) |
| _cfuvid | Issued by certain Cloudflare products to distinguish unique visitors for rate-limiting and security purposes. | Session | First-party-like (Cloudflare) |
Exact cookie names, presence and durations depend on Cloudflare's current product configuration. See the Cloudflare privacy policy for the authoritative reference.
Third-party cookies
We do not embed third-party content that sets cookies on this domain. When you click an external link (for example to admin.ch, zefix.ch, finma.ch, edoeb.admin.ch or a processor page), the destination site may set its own cookies on its own domain. Those cookies are not under our control and are governed by the destination's privacy policy.
Analytics and marketing cookies
We do not use any. If we introduce analytics in the future, a cookie-consent banner will be shown before any non-essential cookie is set, and this policy will be updated to list the cookie, its purpose, its duration and its party. We will not retroactively activate analytics for traffic that visited before the update.
How to control cookies
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. All current browsers let you view cookies, delete them, and block future cookies by domain. Documentation is published by each browser vendor (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, Brave and others).
Please note that disabling Cloudflare's challenge cookies will prevent the contact form from working, because the Turnstile challenge depends on them. This is a functional constraint, not a tracking choice.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We honour Global Privacy Control signals where applicable. Because we do not run tracking or advertising, there is no tracking behaviour to suppress; the signal is recorded as respected but has no visible effect.
Legal basis
Strictly-essential cookies, including the bot-mitigation cookies listed above, do not
require prior consent under the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC as implemented in EU member
states and under Swiss telecommunications law, in particular
FMG art. 45c. A clear notice (this page) is sufficient.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy whenever the cookie inventory changes or our posture changes (for example, if we later choose to introduce analytics). Material changes are announced through the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
